Learning Support

The Learning Support service is available to all students, offering support and help with:
• Practical advice and support for physical disabilities and specified learning difficulties such as ADD, ADHD, Asperger's, dyslexia, other medical conditions and those with mental health conditions.
• Help to access specialist equipment for your course.
• Support in the classroom and in the wider college environment.
• Support for visual or hearing impairment (blind & deaf).

Learner Mentors and Tutorials

Our Learner Mentor Team provide our students with a range of activities, advice and support across many areas:
• Homework and coursework
• Revision
• Pastoral matters including accommodation, finance and emotional support.

Guidance

Career 6 also has first-class careers provision.
Our Careers Advisers are professionally qualified and equipped to give you independent careers advice and guidance. They can help you choose the next step, whether it’s university, apprenticeships or employment.

Trips and travel

We want to open our students’ eyes to the world.
Our students will experience local, national and international trips in order to broaden their horizons.

Financial Support

Depending on your personal circumstances there is a range of financial support which you may be able to access to assist you with some of the costs associated with your chosen programme of study.
The support could help with costs towards travel, meals while at college, childcare, getting to interviews and other study-related costs.
There is increased financial support for young people who are from vulnerable groups, specifically young people in care, care leavers and young people in receipt of income support and living independently, or young people in receipt of both Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments.

Tutorial Support

Our tutorial programmes provide individual coaching and support aimed at monitoring progress, academic achievement and progression while raising aspirations and self-esteem.
